Corrosion, 2026. 5 x 7 in. Original, Matted to 8 x 10 in. Unframed.

$125.00
SOLD

Description

A field where two surfaces meet and neither survives intact. Corrosion considers what happens at the point of contact between things that cannot coexist. The slow chemical conversation between teal and gold, where one bleeds into the other and both are changed.

The split ground shifts beneath the stones. A visible fault line runs between the two fields where gold origami paper catches light through the gap, raw and deliberate. Where teal rises to meet gold, the boundary dissolves into something new and unfamiliar.

Presentation

Sold unframed. The matted presentation is complete and ready to display or frame to suit your space.

Materials

5 × 7 in. origami paper, glass rhinestones, adhesive. Presented on an 8 × 10 in. archival acid-free mat and backing board.

Technique

A premium origami paper ground establishes the base field, over which hundreds of rhinestones are hand-placed one by one to create a dense reflective surface. The interaction between paper and faceted stone allows light, texture, and depth to shift with the viewer’s movement.

Shipping and Inclusions

Shipping is included with all acquisitions. Each work is packaged in archival glassine and a rigid box. Artwork is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. To ensure the longevity of the work, a curated conservation kit is included. This contains a selection of glass rhinestones in every size utilized on the specific panel, housed in glassine envelopes for future professional conservation or repair if ever required.
